SARA's launch site is located west of Tucson, a few miles past the Desert Museum. It sits on the northern edge of the land for TIMPA (Tucson International Modelplex Park Association). The main TIMPA entrance is on North Reservation Road between Mile Wide Road and West Manville Rd. There's a house and a large metal building there. The entrance to SARA's normal launch site is half a mile north of the main TIMPA entrance, on the same side of the road.
The SARA site for monthly launches is basically a flat area cleared of brush. There isn't any shade or chairs, so you'd be wise to bring your own. Sun tan lotion would be a good idea too. SARA provides the launch equipment (rods, rails, and the launch system). There are no restrooms or running water at the main SARA site.
Desert Heat (every March) and night launches are held at the main TIMPA site (1/2 mile south). It has restrooms, running water, and some shade. The nearest other services (food, gas, hardware store, etc.) are located in Picture Rocks, a few minutes north on Sandario Rd.
