Event Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 4 June 2021

SARA has identified the following terms and conditions for conducting safe model rocket launches. If you do not agree to provide required event registration information, or if you are unwilling to comply with the safety provisions governing this launch, do not attend the launch. By agreeing to these terms and conditions,  you agree to abide by all its provisions at SARA events.

Launch Safety

SARA launches are conducted under the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) safety codes. Please read and understand the NAR safety codes for model rocketry and high power rocketry.

The Range Safety Officer has the absolute authority on all matters of range safety, including, but not limited to, approval of rockets for flight, access to launch range, and conduct at the launch event.  I will abide by the RSO's rulings without complaint.

Participate at Your Own Risk

I agree to hold harmless from all claims Southern Arizona Rocketry Association, its board members, the National Association of Rocketry, Tripoli Rocketry Association, TIMPA, and the City of Tucson.

Public Health Precautions

After months of canceled launches during the COVID-19 pandemic, SARA is able to conduct this launch only because we have identified the following special provisions to help protect the health and safety of our attendees. Many of these precautions are mandated by the authorities having jurisdiction: the City of Tucson, Pima County, and/or the State of Arizona. If you don't agree with these terms, do not register, and do not attend the launch.

  • If I am not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, I will wear my own mask while away from my car in order to keep any germs I may be carrying to myself. Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear facemasks
  • I will park with at least 6 feet vacant space between cars.
  • I will maintain 6 ft of space from other attendees at all times.
  • I am a current paid SARA member. If I'm not already a current SARA member, I will join or renew before the launch:
  • I am familiar with the symptoms of COVID-19 documented by the CDC:
  • I will stay home if I am feeling sick, or if I may have been exposed to anyone who may have COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks. If in doubt, I will stay home.
  • I will call SARA President James Cramton at 520 405 3009 if I develop symptoms of COVID-19 in the next 2 weeks.
  • I will call SARA President James Cramton at 520 405 3009 if I learn that I or anyone in my family may have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 in the 2 weeks prior to the launch.
