SARA's March 2021 launch is scheduled for Saturday, March 21  from 9 am - Noon. This may change, subject to changing state, county, or city public health regulations, but at this point, we anticipate being able to hold two 25 person launch sessions this month, split into early and late launch windows. Since we continue to operate in a public health emergency, there are a number of special provisions we will follow for this launch. We will continue to adjust our operating protocols as the situation merits.  Here are the highlights:
  • This launch is limited to 25 attendees in each 2 hour time slot
  • Pre-registration is required.  Attendance will be granted on a first come, first served basis, so sign up as soon as you can. If you are able to register on the website, then you have a slot at the launch.
  • There is a waitlist available, so if you make a reservation and can't attend, please cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund so someone else can use your spot.
  • There is a mandatory $5 fee (even for members) to cover the new cost of the port-a-potty SARA is required to provide, since access to the traditional TIMPA facilities will be limited. This fee applies to all attendees, even if you don't use the facilities.
  • Key safety precautions include:
    • Facemasks are mandatory when away from your car.
    • Practice social distancing at all times--park every other space in the parking lot, and maintain 6 feet of space between you and others not in your group.
    • If you or anyone in your family are sick or may have been exposed to someone who's sick, stay home.
    • Consider staying home if you or any family member is at an increased risk of COVID-19 complications.
    • If you don't like the terms on the pre-registration form, you should stay home. It's common sense stuff for running a group event during a pandemic, designed to help ensure the safety of our attendees and to comply with applicable laws. We're trying to make the best of a challenging situation, so we ask for your patience and cooperation.

As always, while a specific waiver altitude and motor limit is expected, field and sky conditions at flight time may dictate restricted operations.
