Spectator Registration
Spectator Registration permits access to parking area and port-a-potty only. Launch Range Fee not included.
Trailer Pickup
We need 1 person with a Class 2 trailer hitch, with a 2" ball to tow the trailer, and another to help move the trailer out of the TIMPA barn at 7:15 am.
Trailer Return
We need 1 person with a Class 2 trailer hitch, with a 2" ball to tow the trailer, and another to help move the trailer back into the TIMPA barn after the launch.
Volunteer: LCO
Launch Control Officer is responsible for opening and closing the range for launch operations. 60 minute shift.
Volunteer: Pad Manager
The Pad Manager assists with pad assignment and loading rockets onto pads, as well as other tasks as needed. 30 minute shift minimum.
Volunteer: Photographer
We often have a launch photographer on site!
Volunteer: RSO
Range Safety Officer has the absolute authority to authorize flight of a model rocket, and over other range safety matters. The RSO's ruling is final. 60 minute shift.
Volunteer: Safety Inspection
Assist RSO in inspecting rockets prior to flight

SARA's June 2024 launch is scheduled for Saturday June 15 from 8 am - 11 am at the SARA launch site near Picture Rocks.

THIS WILL BE A MODEL ROCKET LAUNCH ONLY!

A-G MOTORS ONLY.

NO HIGH POWER. NO WAIVER IN PLACE.

PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

BUT PLEASE STILL PLAN TO HAVE FUN! WHICH IS WHY WE WILL BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE...

Pre-registration is required.
ALL FLYERS Must be individually registered!
~~ALL High Power FLYERS Must show proof of Currently Paid NAR or Tripoli membership and certification level!~~
Attendance will be granted on a first come, first served basis, so sign up as soon as you can.
There is a waitlist available, so if you make a reservation and can't attend, please cancel your reservation up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund so someone else can use your spot.
Please consider volunteering to work for an hour during the launch to help keep our launch running smoothly.
You must be qualified to serve as LCO or RSO, but the other positions are available to anyone.
Launch operations will cease, if there is not sufficient volunteers!
Public Health precautions in currently effect include:
- If you or anyone in your family are sick or may have been exposed to someone who's sick, stay home.
- Consider staying home if you or any family member is at an increased risk of COVID-19 complications.

As always, while a specific waiver altitude and motor limit is expected, field and sky conditions at flight time may dictate restricted operations. Be sure to wear sunscreen, a hat, long pants and long sleeves, closed toe shoes, plenty of water, and always recover rockets with a partner. Watch out for gopher holes, snakes, and other desert hazards when recovering rockets.
